Here are the steps to import activities on AidStream using a CSV file.
- Click on 'Add New Activity' and ‘Import activities from CSV’.
- Download the suitable template for CSV import:
- Activity Basics: Basic elements only (The grayed out elements on Activity checklist)
- Activity with Transactions: Basic elements + Transaction elements
- Activity with Other Fields: Basic elements + Other fields
- Activity with Transactions and Other Fields: Basic elements +Transactions + Other fields
Note: Only the provided templates can be used to import activities from an excel file.
- In the downloaded Excel file, start filling in your data. Here are the few things to be remembered while filling data in the excel file:
- The headers on the excel file represent various elements of your activity.
- No headers should be deleted from the excel file. If the headers are not required for your activity, you may hide it or leave it empty. But, no column should be deleted.
Error message will appear in the highlighted area when headers do not match.
- Ensure that all dates are in the YYYY/MM/DD format.
- Upload the file after filling in your data through the same page.
- Once the processing is completed, select the activities to be imported and click on ‘Import’.
- If the data is not processed, it cannot be selected. Click on the invalid activities to find the feedback.
- Correct the errors as directed by the feedback message and re-import the file.
- Once the file is imported on AidStream, publish them to the IATI registry. (Mark it as Complete, verify and publish from the activity details page)
'Published on IATI' tag appears beside the activity once it is published on the IATI registry.
