In certain vocabulary lists, codes 98 and 99 are used which indicates that the vocabulary is maintained by the reporting organisation.
Custom Vocabulary is a PRO feature which allows the organisations to host their own list of Codes and Descriptions for their vocabulary codes 98 and 99.
- URL format: The format or URL of custom vocabulary will be: aidstream.org/reference/codelist/{org_identifer}/{element}
- org_identifier is your Organisation Identifier
- element is the name of the element (eg: sector)
- Elements included in Custom Vocabulary:
- Result Indicator
- Policy Marker
- Sector
- Humanitarian Scope
- Region
- Result Reference
- Tag
How to Activate Custom Vocabulary?
If you’ve just signed up as a PRO user, the Custom Vocabulary feature gets automatically activated. All you need to do is add code and description for the respective vocabulary. You can manage the custom vocabulary feature according to your preference.
Taking an example of Sector Vocabulary:
- On the left sidebar menu, click on the Custom Vocab option.
- Click on the Edit button on the Sector Vocabulary.
- Add Custom Code and Custom Description.
- Multiple codes and descriptions can be added by clicking on the ‘Add More’ button.
How to use Custom Vocabulary in elements?
After the list of custom vocabulary has been created for Sector Vocabulary:
- Select ‘98’ or ‘99’ in the dropdown menu in the vocabulary option.
- You will see a ‘Use My Custom Vocab’ checkbox just beneath the Vocabulary drop-down menu in Sector element. (See picture below.)
- After clicking on the checkbox, the Vocabulary URL will automatically fill in with the custom vocabulary URL maintained at AidStream.
How to remove the Custom Vocabulary URL?
The Custom Vocabulary URL can be removed via Settings under Custom Vocabulary option. To remove:
- Go to the ‘Custom Vocabulary’ option in the left sidebar menu.
- Click on the ‘Delete’ (bin) icon on the right side of the individual element.
Note:
Custom Vocab URL will not be removed from the activities that already include the URL. You will have to remove it manually from the activity form if you want to remove them.
